Social skills in higher education: how to combine active learning and social skills training program

Paper aims The objective was to propose a Social Skills Training (SST) program integrated with project-based learning (PjBL) and describe the student’s perception. Originality skills are recognized for promoting peer collaboration important requirements in professional environment. However, there no proposals on how integrate SST PjBL. Research method same PjBL applied students from different classes at Production Engineering course. first 2017 without SST, 2018, conducted by psychologist. A survey open-ended questions compiled students' perceptions both applications. Main findings qualitatively analyzed responses indicated changes regarding perceived benefits of over years cited benefit social interaction teamwork. Implications theory practice study points out that can be positive brings effects teams.
